Aviva Mini Festivals

Hundreds of young boys and girls from clubs all over Ireland take part in the Aviva Minis Festivals every year. There are four provincial festivals each season followed by the highlight of the year the national festival in Aviva Stadium.

One of the big treats at the Aviva Minis festivals is the regular appearance of Ireland stars such as Rory Best, Robbie Henshaw and Jenny Murphy. The children love the chance to meet their rugby heroes and learn new skills in a fun environment.

Leaders Ballina blew Instonians away in the second half of their round 2 clash to register their second win of the All-Ireland Provincial League Championship and move within touching distance of promotion to the Ulster Bank League. Meanwhile, Bandon stormed their way into second place on the back of a fantastic 29-point victory over Ashbourne.

Buccaneers RFC have announced the appointment of Christian Short as the club's new head coach, as the Pirates prepare for an immediate bid to return to Ulster Bank League Division 1A next year.

Ireland star Paula Fitzpatrick crossed for two tries as St. Mary's won the Women's All-Ireland League promotion play-off final 20-10 in Portlaoise, although Tralee's resilient performance showed that they are also heading in the right direction.
