Keith Wood Back This Weekend

With Keith Wood planning to make his comeback this weekend for his club Harlequins in their Premiership game against Sale Sharks, there is a real possibility of him making the Ireland v Italy game.

Ireland manager Brian O’Brien believes Wood will play at least a part, or hopefully a full game on Saturday.”He is down to play,” said O’Brien yesterday at the squad session in Ravenhil, “How long he plays for is up to Harlequins and Keith himself. He would not play if he didn’t feel he was right.
Coach Eddie O’Sullivan said: “At this point in time he plans to play, but for how long we are not sure. If he played a full game it would help a lot. His calf problem is pretty serious and has dragged on for a while now. So he has to be careful that he doesn’t damage it again. Hopefully everything will go ok for him.”
