Clontarf can move a little closer to a place in the AIB League semi finals if they can take something out of Moher Road today where they play Buccaneers.
Clontarf curently lie in fourth place on 39 points, one behind Garryowen. They have a superior points difference and therefore a bonus point today could move them into third place. But they’ll really need more than that with St Mary’s and UCD also on 39 points .
Of that trio Mary’s have arguably the best chance of gaining the most points from their final outing next weekend. They travel to Stradbrook while Clontarf go north to play Dungannon and UCD travel to Limerick for game with a Garryowen side not certain of a play off place.
In the only Division Three games played yesterday, Monkstown’s slim hopes of a semi-final place were killed off when they were beaten 22-9 by Corinthians in Galway while Naas maintained their good end of season run with a 32-23 win over Ballina in Heffernan Park.
