Waliking Wounded

The immediate fall out from Munster’s win over Castres on Saturday will be felt by Cork Constitution and Shannon who face up to each other in the AIB League final next Saturday at Lansdowne Road.

The injury to Ronan O’Gara in Beziers means he will almost certainly miss the final for the second year in a row. Last year it was the trip to Australia that forced him to miss the final and this time a deep gash on his knee cap that required 13 stitches means he is an unlikely starter on Saturday.
Jim Williams has already been ruled out after injurying a calf muscle in the game against Leinster. Williams had been a regular in the side and a huge influence while O’Gara has been involved in the recent latter stages.

Anthony Foley’s focus will be on recovering for the Heineken Cup final after injurying his shoulder but his unavailbility will not unduly concern Shannon who have tended to stick with the side who have done so well for them all year.
