New Signings at Munster

Northampton’s Dominc Malone has just signed a two year contract with Munster, and will join them in early August.

Scrum-half Malone is 28 years old and will be best remembered for his performance for Northampton in the Heineken Cup Final at Twickenham in 2000.

An accomplished scrum-half with 5 years first team experience in the English Premiership with Northampton, Malone has played in excess of 75 first team games. He previously played with Bedford.

Dominic will join the Munster Squad in early August in time for their pre-season friendlies against Bristol in Limerick on Tuesday 13th August and against Connacht in Galway on 22/23rd August.

This is good news for Munster given that it had high hopes of signing but missed out on signing Scottish international Gordon McIlwham. He signed with the French club Bordeaux, following talks with Munster and Saracens.

News from Ulster is the announcement that Andy Ward will captain Ulster for a second season as they challenge for the Celtic League and Heineken Cup titles.
