Blackrock were beaten 16-15 at home by a Terenure side desperate for points while Clontarf were convincing 34-11 winners over Lansdowne at Castle Avenue.
Ballymena recorded a narrow 13-12 away win over Dungannon while Shannon produced a blistering finish to snatch a 21-15 victory over Cork Constitution at Thomond Park.
Elsewhere, Belfast Harlequins overcame UCD 52-29 and Co Carlow were beaten 22-10 by St Mary’s College in Oak Park.
