Galwegians Tops In Dooradoyle

Tries from Gavin Duffy and Marnus Uijs helped Galwegians to a 20-6 win over Garryowen at a wet and miserable Dooradoyle

Tries from Gavin Duffy and Marnus Uijs helped Galwegians to a 20-6 win over Garryowen at a wet and miserable Dooradoyle yesterday for a win that moves the Connacht side into the top four, just four points off the leaders Clontarf.

In a game played in atrocious conditions. the home side’s inexperienced pack were no match for a ‘wegians 8 packed with Connacht players. Nor was Garryowen’s cause helped when Munster squad member Simon Kerr was forced to retire at the start of the second quarter with an ankle iunjury. The loss of Kerr could impact badly on Munster who face Ulster on Friday in the semi-final of the Celtic League.
