Anthony Foley (Munster/Shannon) has been forced to cry off Ireland’s upcoming Summer Tour to Australia, Tonga and Samoa because of a neck injury.
His back row place will be filled by Leinster’s Aidan McCullen.
Foley’s withdrawal from the 41-man squad follows the unavailability
also because of injury of Brian O’Driscoll (hamstring), Shane Horgan (thigh), John Hayes (groin), Jeremy Staunton (groin) and Neil Doak (shoulder).
Foley’s place at No. 8 in the Colours team to play Whites in a pre Tour training match at Thomond Park, Limerick tomorrow, (Friday, May 24th), will be taken by Victor Costello. He switches teams from number
6 on the Whites, with David Wallace moving from 7 to 6 on the Whites and Kieron Dawson being promoted from the Colours replacements to fill
Wallace’s original place on Whites.
The re-shaped Whites back row now reads:
6 – DavidWallace

8 – Eric Miller.
The back row vacancy in the Colours replacements will be filled by Denis Leamy (Munster – UCC).
