Mauricio Reggiardio & Roberto Grau have been cited by Rugby World Cup in relation to incidents in the course of the Ireland v Argentina game in Adelaide Oval on Saturday.

Rugby World Cup has cited two Argentinean players in relation to incidents during their 15 – 16 defeat by Ireland at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday.

Match citing commissioner Dougie Hunter, from Scotland has cited the players for dangerous play and a date and time for the hearing will be announced shortly. It will be adjudicated on by Bruce Squire QC of New Zealand.

The Ireland management was asked today by the Citing Commissioner to assist him in his investigations and statements were provided by Reggie Corrigan, Keith Wood and team doctor, Gary O’Driscoll.

The allegations relate to eye gouging in the second half and the accusations are that tight head prop Mauricio Reggiardio committed the offence on Corrigan, as a consequence of which the Irishman was obliged to retire injured from the game.

The Argentine loose head prop Roberto Grau stands indicted of gouging the Irish captain Keith Wood.

If found guilty, both Puma props could face lengthy bans from the game.
