There were away wins in the first division of the AIB League this afternoon for Cork Con, Shannon, Co Carlow, and Ballymena and with last year’s beaten finalists Clontarf going down by two points in Dooradoyle. (18-16), it leaves the defending champions Ballymena leading the way in Division One by a pont from Shannon.

Dolphin earned their first win in the premier division when two first half from Mike Pettman helped them to a 24-18 win over St Mary’s College in Musgrave Park. But Dolphin had to survive a second half mauling having led 24-3 at the break.
