Half-Time in Melbourne

At half-time in the Teslstra Dome in Melbourne, Ireland trail Australia11-6.

George Gregan put the home side in front with a drop-goal in the 10th minute and they extended that lead further when George Smith crossed for a try three minutes later.

Ronan O’Gara opened the Irish account with a penalty in the 15th minute and then swopped penalties with Elton Flatley to leave it 11-6 with a minute and a half to go to the break.

Then Ireland, attacking inside the Aussie 22, were being awarded a penalty only for Shane Horgan to foul, the penalty was reversed and Horgan and Mat Rogers were yellow-carded.
