Hopes Munster might have entertained of Bourgoin doing them a favour when the French side played Gloucester probably faded with the talk of Phillipe Saint Andre’s departure. The Bourgoin coach announced his intention to apply for the vacant position of Welsh national coach in the days leading up to his side’s clash with the English club.

As a result, Bourgoin have
sacked
general manager Saint-Andre.

Club president >Pierre Martinet
Martinet said he had not appreciated rumours linking Saint-Andre
to the
Wales job, and was already on the lookout for a new manager.
Saint-Andre, who has been in charge of Bourgoin since leaving
Gloucester
two years ago, wants to succeed Steve Hansen in the summer and bring
with him
his right-hand man Laurent Seigne.
