No Need Just To Play For Pride

Alan Solomons has named his side for Ulster’s final Heineken Cup pool game against the Gwent Dragons this Friday night at Ravenhill, kick off 7.30pm.

The team shows just two changes from that originally selected to play against Stade Francais last weekend. Paul Shields will start the match with Matt Sexton, a late withdrawal last week due to injury, named on the bench. Neil McMillan, who returned to Ulster action last week has injured a medial ligament in his knee and will sit this game out, allowing Neil Best back into the starting line-up with Warren Brosnihan providing replacement cover.

While qualification for the knock-out stages of the competition is now out of Ulster’s reach, Alan Solomons and the team will want to finish their run in the competition on a high note with a victory over the Dragons.

Ulster: 15 – Bryn Cunningham; 14 – James Topping; 13 – Seamus Mallon; 12 – Paul Steinmetz; 11 – Tyrone Howe; 10 – David Humphreys; 9 – Neil Doak; 1 – Robbie Kempson; 2 – Paul Shields; 3 – Rod Moore; 4 – Gary Longwell; 5 – Matt McCullough; 6 – Andy Ward (Captain); 7 – Neil Best; 8 – Roger Wilson

Replacements: 16 – Matt Sexton; 17 – Simon Best; 18 – Matt Mustchin; 19 – Warren Brosnihan; 20 – Kieran Campbell; 21 – Adam Larkin; 22 – Paddy Wallace
