Munster and Leinster Lions served up a cracking game of rugby in Musgrave Park before the home side ended up 24-13 winners but not before they’d been given a right scare. Munster trailed 13-10 at the break after they’d dominated territorially and led on the try count, 2-1.
However, Munster upped the tempo in the second half to wind up 24-13 winnners, adding two tries to secure the bonus point.
But Leinster will look to an incident mid way through the second half when they executed a marvellous counter-attack down the stand side that ended with Shane Jennings bursting through for a clear run to the line only for referee Hugh Watkins to whistle back play.
Munster were full value for their victory and they secured the bonus point with a John Kelly try, his second of the night, right at the death, but Leinster deserved to leave with at least a bonus.
Up north Ulster took full points from the visit of The Ospreys, winning 31-19 and Gwent Dragons maintained their unbeaten Celtic League record at Rodney Parade when they beat Llanelli 15-9.
And in Scotland, Connacht hammered Edinburgh 32-17.
