Barry Keogh: Profile of the new IRFU President for 2004 – 05.
Barry Keogh, President of the Irish Rugby Football Union, is the Chairman and Senior Partner of KMCS (Keogh – McConnell), Construction and Project Cost Management Company, with offices in Dublin, London and Cork.

He is a noted former open side wing forward synonymous with the Old Belvedere RFC club, for whom he played between 1963 and 1976. He was Club Captain in seasons 1971 – 72 and 1972 – 73 and a key member of their Leinster Senior Cup winning team in 1968, the last time Old Belvedere won trophy.

He also played for Dublin in Inter-Cities championship and gained further representative honours with the Irish Wolfhounds.

The second member of the Old Belvedere club to be nominated to the highest honour in Irish rugby (Paddy Madigan being IRFU President in 1987 – 88), Barry Keogh has been his club’s delegate to the Leinster Branch since 1988, being President in season 1994 – 95.

A member of the IRFU Committee since 1995 – 96, he has served on a variety of Committees and until assuming the office as IRFU President he was Chairman of the Marketing and Commercial Committee.

A member and former Captain of Skerries Golf Club, Barry’s wife Margaret is on the Executive Committee of the Irish Ladies Golf Union.
