Connacht change six to take on The Scarlets

Connacht have made six changes from the side that dramatically beat Borders last weekend for their game away to Llanelli on Saturday (KO 5:30pm live Setanta Sports and S4C).

Connacht have made six changes from the side that dramatically beat Borders last weekend for their game away to Llanelli on Saturday (KO 5:30pm live Setanta Sports and S4C).

Coach Michael Bradley has decided to start with an experimental young pack. This is one of the last chances for some of the up and coming young players in the squad to impress management before the two European games against Narbonne, the first of which is in two weeks.

There are two changes and two positional switches in the back line. Ted Robinson comes in on the wing for Niall O’Brien while Mark McHugh comes in at inside centre, James Downey switches to outside while Paul Warwick moves to out half in place of Eric Elwood.

In the back row, Michael Swift returns from injury as those Michael Carroll who replaces the injured John O’Sullivan.

There are two changes among the replacements from last week. Eric Elwood takes a place on the bench while Chris Keane will be the cover utility back. Justin Meagher is out with flu.

Llanelli have also named their side, they are at full strength. Coach Gareth Jenkins welcomes back Dwayne Peel, Scott Quinnell and Salesi Finau into the starting side.

Connacht: David Slemen; Ted Robinson, James Downey, Mark McHugh, Conor McPhillips; Paul Warwick, Conor O’Loughlin; Ray Hogan, John Fogarty, Stephen Knoop, Pieter Myburgh, Andrew Farley, Michael Swift, Matt Lacey, Michael Carroll.

Replacements: Henry Bourke, Adrian Clarke, Christian Short, John Muldoon, Mike Walls, Eric Elwood, Chris Keane.

Llanelli: Garan Evans; Tal Selley , Matthew Watkins , Mark Taylor , Salesi Finau; Gareth Bowen , Dwayne Peel, Iestyn Thomas, Matthew Rees, John Davies; Vernon Cooper, Chris Wyatt; Simon Easterby ( C ), Gavin Thomas, Scott Quinnell
