Ireland had their traditional Captains Run in Lansdowne Road this morning ahead of tomorrows crunch match against Argentina.

There was no injury concerns, with openside Johnny O’Connor passed fit yesterday following his minor injury early in the week. The rest of the team had their workout on a Lansdowne Pitch that showed no scars from last weeks deluge during the USA game.

At the post training media conference, Coach Eddie O’Sullivan underpinned his feeling that the game against the Puma’s will be just as tough as the South Africa game. When asked was he surprised by Argentina’s win over France, he replied, “Not really, although any game is difficult to call, I thought that Argentina were certainly good enough to beat them. They closed the game out well and played a very good tactical game.”

Saturdays international will be the sixth time Ireland have played Argentina over the last five years, more then any other team in World rugby. Their last visit to Lansdowne was not a game many fans will want to remember, especially those in the stadium, as the heavens opened and made the conditions very difficult for either side to play any type of an expansive game, with Ireland battling to a 16-7 win. Both teams will be hoping for better weather, with Ireland hoping for another win over Los Pumas.
