The 27-year-old’s condition has improved over the past 24 hours and he is set to earn his 56th Test cap against Wales at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday.
It will also be Stringer’s 34th international start in tandem with Munster half-back colleague Ronan O’Gara.
Ulster pivot Kieran Campbell -who remained with the Irish squad as cover – has been released back to his province for Friday’s Celtic League tie with Munster (Musgrave Park, 7.00pm).
Meanwhile Leinster prop Reggie Corrigan is continuing his recovery from the “stiff knee” which saw him sidelined at yesterday’s session in Dublin.
