Four of Ireland’s Under-21s have signed one-year contracts with Ulster today, including Belfast Harlequins pack duo John Andress and Lewis Stevenson.
The province have confirmed that tight-head prop Andress, second row Stevenson and talented Dungannon back row pairing Oisin Hennessy and Stephen Ferris (number 8) have penned first-time deals.
Meanwhile, flanker Ryan Caldwell – also a member of Mark McDermott’s Irish Under-21 squad this season, and a club colleague of Hennessy and Ferris – has re-signed with Ulster for another 12 months.
Coach Mark McCall has also retained ‘Quins prop Declan Fiztpatrick – a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin – on a one-year contract.
Fitzpatrick – who turned 21 last December – was a member of Ulster’s 2004/05 Heineken Cup squad, yet failed to make an appearance.
