The first Under-20 fixture of the season will take place on Sunday, November 6, versus Oxford University U21s; kick-off 12.30 p.m., at Oxford’s famous Iffley Road ground.

The game will also be a precursor to the Oxford University v Tonga game that afternoon.

The squad will be largely composed of U-20s, based on last season’s U-19s and including Ireland U-19 international Callum Black (prop; Worcester), for example. However, the fact that we will be facing an U-21 XV is recognized by the fact that we hope to include some U-21s in key positions, e.g. Duncan James (scrum-half; NEC Harlequins) and Kieran Hallett (out-half; Bedford Blues). Importantly, the game will also give the opportunity to field some recent “recruits to the Irish cause.”

For those who would like to attend the game, directions can be obtained from the Oxford University RFC Web pages, on www.ourfc.org
