Johnny O’Connor has emerged as the clear winner of our latest poll to determine who was your Ireland man-of-match in last weekend’s 30-14 defeat by Australia.
The Galway man, who was earning his ninth Test cap, garnered nearly half of irishrugby.ie users’ votes in a landslide victory.
We asked you: “Who was Ireland’s man-of-the-match against Australia?”
Wasps flanker O’Connor netted 46% (760 votes), Leinster centre Gordon D’Arcy finished second on 22% (368), Munster back row Denis Leamy, the winner of the Ireland v New Zealand man-of-the-match poll, was third with 14% (230), Munster prop Marcus Horan was close behind on 11% (190), while Leicester full-back Geordan Murphy, who drew the cover and passed for Shane Horgan to score Ireland’s only try against the Wallabies, gained 5% (90) in fifth.
