Pictured above: The victorious Leinster team with the Interpro trophy after their 17-7 win over champions Munster. It was the province’s first ever Interpro Championship title. The competition began back in 1996/97. Leinster were deserving winners this season – they beat Connacht (47-3), Munster (12-5) and Ulster (20-0) over the first three rounds of the Interpro Championship.

The Munster team, dotted with Ireland internationals – including captain Sarah-Jane Belton, before Saturday’s kick-off. Munster’s 12-5 second round loss to Leinster in October was their first defeat at the hands of Leinster in four years.

Leinster winger Lynne Cantwell, formerly a lynchpin member of the Munster team, on the attack at Castle Avenue. Irish international Cantwell, 24, transferred between the provinces for this season.
