Ireland fly half David Humphreys has denied a report in the press claiming that he is to retire from international rugby at the end of the current RBS 6 Nations Championship.

Following a report in today’s Irish Times stating that Humphreys is planning to retire from international rugby at the end of the 6 Nations, the Ulster number 10 has categorically denied that any decision regarding his international future has been made.

Humphreys said: “Myself and Eddie O’Sullivan had discussed my future plans back in November and prior to the start of the Championship. We agreed that we would talk again after the tournament. The report in today’s paper that I have made a decision is inaccurate and any decision will not be made until after the 6 Nations.”

He added: “At this point in time I am concentrating on playing for Ireland and Ulster this weekend, and will do so until the end of this season.”
