Nine Players Added To Irish Squad

Ireland coach Eddie O’Sullivan has added nine players to his training squad ahead of next Sunday’s RBS 6 Nations showdown with Wales at Lansdowne Road (kick-off 3.00pm).

Ireland coach Eddie O’Sullivan has added nine players to his training squad ahead of next Sunday’s RBS 6 Nations showdown with Wales at Lansdowne Road (kick-off 3.00pm).

The additional players have linked up with with the match-day 22 that played against France on Saturday, February 11.

The squad additions are: Forwards: Marcus Horan (Munster), Mick O’Driscoll (Munster), Matth McCullough (Ulster), Jamie Heaslip (Leinster), Neil Best (Ulster).

Backs: Denis Hickie (Leinster), Girvan Dempsey (Leinster), Robert Kearney (Leinster), Barry Murphy (Munster).

Munster number eight and captain Anthony Foley was not considered as he picked up an ankle sprain at the weekend. His place is taken by Jamie Heaslip. Munster centre/wing John Kelly is also unavailable due to a groin strain with Robert Kearney coming into the backs.
