Flanker Johnny O’Connor, originally selected as a replacement, has been ruled out of the Ireland squad for Saturday’s RBS 6 Nations clash with Scotland (Lansdowne Road, kick-off 3.30pm).

Wasps clubman O’Connor sustained a groin injury in training this morning and is unavailable to take his place on the bench for tomorrow’s game at Lansdowne Road.

Munster’s Mick O’Driscoll has taken O’Connor’s place on the Irish bench.
