…The eyes have it – Munster all the way…

While Connacht take on Newcastle away and Leinster travel to Toulouse, Munster’s fervent fans are planning on painting Lansdowne Road red on Saturday evening.

The gates at Lansdowne Road will open at 3.45pm on Saturday for the eagerly-awaited Heineken Cup quarter-final between Munster and Perpignan. A big screen has been installed on the back pitch which will be showing the second half of the Leinster v Toulouse game, with bar facilities also available.

The entertainment programme will start on the main pitch at 4.15pm approximately, with music from the Army No. 1 band, followed by a performance from Cork-born soprano Cara O’Sullivan, as she sings some of Munster’s best loved songs.

The big screen on the main pitch will feature highlights of Munster’s season so far, and some messages from the supporters.

…C’mon Munster!…

MAKE SOME NOISE – Keep an eye out for the “Bodhran Band” in the Lower East Stand – they will be the ones in the red wigs! There will be face painters in the ground and red tinsel wigs will be given out also before the game.

If you have tickets for the East Stand, please note that there will be an A3 red card on each seat, with “MUNSTER” written on one side, and the words to “Stand Up And Fight” on the other. Listen out for an announcement, asking everyone in the East Stand to put their cards in the air and create a “WALL OF RED.”

At half time, one of Ireland’s best known comedians , Alan Shortt, will present a very special kicking competition, kindly sponsored by Timberland, involving Murty the Munster Mascot and two of Munster’s famous rugby sons. With each kick worth 500, the kickers will certainly have to prove their skills. The money raised will be donated towards the Marie Keating Foundation and the National Council For The Blind.
