Pictured above: Garryowen hooker Pat Humphries goes over for one of his two first half tries at Dooradoyle. Garryowen’s 13th win in 14 Division One outings has them right on contention for a home semi-final berth – they take on UCD (at home) in their final round game on Saturday, April 29.

County Carlow hooker Wayne Kerr holds onto possession as the midlanders drive forward. Carlow coach David Hodge has admitted his satisfaction with the “battling qualities” and “good spirit shown” by his side in recent weeks, but it has not been enough to stave off relegation. They remain bottom after their 13th defeat in as many games.

Carlow round out their season away to Dublin University (Saturday, April 22) and at home to Lansdowne (Saturday, April 29).

Garryowen full-back Conor Kilroy, who kicked four conversions and two penalties for a 14-point haul, is tackled by Carlow centre Cian Moore.

Garryowen scrum half Gerry Hurley scores one of his two tries. His brace took his try tally for the League campaign to three.

Scrum half David Barron releases the Carlow backs.

Garryowen number 8 and captain Peter Malone tries to hand off his opposite number Rob Porter.
