Fans got the chance to see Munster’s newest piece of silverware up close before Saturday’s Celtic League game against the Cardiff Blues. Chantal Kiely and Brian Foster are pictured with the trophy at the head of the queue.

The fans engulfed the Thomond Park pitch after Munster’s five-try triumph against Cardiff. In a fitting end to the province’s season, the squad were re-introduced to the fans with coach Declan Kidney and captain Anthony Foley coming out with the Heineken Cup trophy at the end. Special mention was paid to the players who are leaving Munster for pastures new in the summer – Rob Henderson, Mike Mullins, Mike Prendergast, Paul Burke, Trevor Hogan and Stephen Keogh.

Anthony Foley and Declan Kidney hold the trophy aloft for the red-shirted hordes at Thomond.
