Ulster back row Roger Wilson will miss the Ireland ‘A’ team’s Churchill Cup Plate final against the England Saxons on Saturday after being suspended for three weeks.

The 24-year-old was red carded for a head-butt at a ruck during the ‘A’ side’s 27-6 loss at the hands of the New Zealand Maori in Santa Clara last Saturday.

Wilson faced a disciplinary hearing today in Edmonton, the venue for the Churchill Cup finals, with Judiciary Officer Robert Horner of the RFU handing down a suspension of three weeks to the Ulsterman.

The recommendation was a six-week ban but that was halved when the player’s remorse and previous record were taken into account.
