Ireland ‘A’ flanker Roger Wilson faces a Barclays Churchill Cup disciplinary hearing today after his sending off for a head-butt during the Pool B defeat to the New Zealand Maori.
Wilson’s involvement in last Saturday’s clash was ended ten minutes from the final whistle when he was red carded by English referee Andrew Small for a head-butt on a Maori player at a ruck.
The Ulster player will appear before Churchill Cup Judiciary Officer Robert Horner of the RFU in Edmonton, the venue for next weekend’s finals, at 6.00pm (Irish time).
Canadian lock Matt Phinney also has a case to answer after he was dismissed, earning his second yellow card for fighting during his side’s meeting with the England Saxons. Phinney’s hearing is scheduled for 4.30pm.
