London Wasps have issued the following fitness updates on Ireland internationals Johnny O’Connor and Eoin Reddan, who both missed the summer tour due to injury.

Former Connacht flanker O’Connor, 26, is said to be “making steady progress” in his recovery from the neck injury he sustained during the Powergen Cup final against Llanelli in April.

The statement continued: “His condition continues to be monitored. Johnny is able to do weight training and running and will be introduced to contact training over the next 12 weeks.”

A groin injury kept the 25-year-old Reddan, who won his first Test cap as a replacement against France in February, out of Ireland’s end-of-season trip to New Zealand and Australia.

Following surgery in the off-season, the Limerick-born scrum half is reported to be “making steady progress” and “hopes to return to weight training within the next fortnight.”
