…Lewis Stevenson…

Belfast Harlequins and Ulster lock Lewis Stevenson is facing 12 to 14 weeks on the sidelines after injurying his leg while on duty for Ulster’s ‘A’ team.

The 22-year-old, who was signed up on a Development contract at the start of last season, dislocated the fibula head of his left leg during the Ulster ‘A’ team’s 15-7 defeat to Munster ‘A’ at Musgrave Park on Wednesday.

Stevenson, whose injury held up play for eight minutes, is to undergo surgery tomorrow to relocate the bone and secure the joint. He is likely to be immobilised for a period of approximately 6-8 weeks.

Following reassessment by the Ulster medical staff, he may then be able to begin a rehab programme.
