…Munster’s players celebrate their Heineken Cup final win…
IrishRugby.ie users have voted Munster’s Heineken Cup success as their favourite Irish rugby memory from last year.
In our latest poll, which was conducted over the festive period, we asked you: “What was your favourite Irish rugby memory from 2006?”
Of the five options, Munster’s European odyssey unsurprisingly captured your imagination the most with the men in red, who venture to Geneva next Sunday to take on Bourgoin, grabbing a massive 2966 votes.
The province’s 23-19 final win over Biarritz last May was the unanimous choice as your favourite memory, polling 55%.
Ireland’s Triple Crown triumph, which was confirmed by Shane Horgan’s dramatic late try at Twickenham last March, came home in second place with 20% (1085 votes).
Trailing the top two choices were Ulster’s Celtic League win (11%), Ireland’s Autumn performances (10%) and the Leinster-Munster Heineken Cup semi (4%) at Lansdowne Road last April.
Many thanks to our users for the 5367 votes cast!
