Magners League Preview

After a two week break for RBS Six Nations games the Magners League returns this weekend with Leinster trying to protect their two point lead at the head of the table.

Leinster are involved in one of  Friday night’s four ties, with Edinburgh facing the leaders at Donnybrook. The Scots were the last side to beat Leinster at home – way back in November 2005 – and the leaders have now built a 17 match unbeaten home run in all competitions.

However should they slip up again against Edinburgh then Ulster, in second place, will be hoping to capitalise when they face the Newport Gwent Dragons at Ravenhill. Ulster have an impressive home record – unbeaten in the league in their last 12 games at Ravenhill – and a 13th victory coupled with an Edinburgh win in Dublin would put them back on top of the league.

Also on Friday night Munster are at the Border Reivers , while the fourth Friday fixture pits Glasgow Warriors against Llanelli Scarlets at Hughenden.

With Cardiff Blues enjoying a free weekend The Ospreys can take the opportunity to leapfrog the Blues when they face Connacht at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday evening.
