Seven players have been added to Ireland’s Six Nations training squad in advance of the final match of the championship against Italy next Saturday (Stadio Flaminio, kick-off 1.30pm).
The following players have been added to the squad for training this week:
Backs: Geordan Murphy (Leicester Tigers), Rob Kearney (UCD/Leinster), Barry Murphy (UL Bohemians/Munster), Tommy Bowe (Belfast Harlequins/Ulster)
Forwards: Trevor Hogan (Shannon/Leinster), Jamie Heaslip (Clontarf/Leinster), Stephen Ferris (Dungannon/Ulster)
Meanwhile, the Ireland training session scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled to allow the squad to undergo an extra rehab session tomorrow morning.
The squad will train in Bray on Tuesday morning before Eddie O’Sullivan announces his team and replacements for the Italian game that afternoon.
