The biggest seven-a-side rugby tournament in the world takes place next week in West London and you can make contact with the Exiles at their stand.
It is the National Schools’ Sevens, which starts on Monday 19th and concludes on Friday 23rd March; the venues are Wimbledon Common, as usual, for all but the very final stages which take place at Rosslyn Park RFC.
The Exiles Branch will have a trailer at Wimbledon Common from Monday to Thursday. It will be staffed full-time by yours truly and IRFU staff Mark Hickey and Patrick Collins, with inputs from Exiles Committee members. If you will be there representing an English, Welsh or Scottish school please make sure you call with us.
A classic exemplar of how it may be worth your while: last year a school coach came across to recommend that I watch Matt O’Regan play at the tournament; Matt has since gone on to play for Ireland U19s this season.
I will be at the Finals Day at Rosslyn Park on the Friday, just in case you haven’t made contact by that stage e.g. you’ve been too busy qualifying for the finals!
