Ulster Players Visit CAI Summer Scrummage Camp

Ireland winger Andrew Trimble and Jarlath Carey, one of Ulster’s new signings, paid a surprise visit to the IRFU/Ulster Bank Summer Scrummage camp at Coleraine Academical Institute on Wednesday. Another popular visitor for the kids was our very own Summer Scrummage mascot Spud.

The IRFU/Ulster Bank Summer Scrummage is now in full swing all around the county and despite the unpredictable weather, the reports from all camps have been very positive.

Last Wednesday saw Ulster duo Andrew Trimble and Jarlath Carey take time out from pre-season training to call into the camp at CAI, where they happily answered questions, signed autographs and posed for photos. But this was not the only highlight of the day for the kids as Spud, the Summer Scrummage mascot, made the trip north to take part in the activities.

There are 14 more camps to take place in Ulster this summer, and while Campbell is already full there are still places available at the following camps: MCB (Pirrie Park), Banbridge RFC, Lisburn RFC, Ards RFC, Enniskillen RFC, Omagh RFC, Ballymena RFC, City of Derry RFC, Portadown RFC, RBAI (Ozborne Park), Carrickfergus RFC, Newry RFC and QUB RFC.

Please visit the Club & Community section on this website and click on ‘Summer Scrummage’ for booking details and information about the 2007 camps.
