The Ireland squad brought the sunshine from their warm weather training camp to east Belfast on Monday as they trained in fine weather at Campbell College, the alma mater of out-half Paddy Wallace. See below for a photo gallery link.
Eddie O’Sullivan’s squad have settled into camp in Belfast ahead of their final World Cup warm-up match against Italy at Ravenhill on Friday night.
Out-half Paddy Wallace and back rower Denis Leamy, who both shipped injuries in last week’s 42-6 win over Bayonne, took a full part in today’s training session at Campbell College. Flanker David Wallace was restricted to light jogging as he continues his recovery from an ankle injury, while, as a precautionary measure, scrum half Peter Stringer sat out the session at Fox’s Field due to a back injury.
After receiving treatment for their respective nose and knee injuries in Dublin, team captain Brian O’Driscoll and his Leinster colleague Shane Horgan are due to link up with the squad at their Belfast base tomorrow (Tuesday).
