Argentina Select Team For Paris Tie
Argentina coach Marcelo Loffreda has announced his team and replacements for Sunday’s World Cup Pool D showdown with Ireland in Paris – the side shows five changes to the one that started last Saturday’s 63-3 win over Namibia.
The return of Juan Martin Hernandez to the out-half berth – he has recovered from a thigh injury – means Leinster’s Felipe Contepomi, who started at number 10 against Namibia, will partner his twin brother Manuel at centre against Ireland.
Juan Manuel Leguizamon of London Irish is sidelined due to injury so Gonzalo Longo Elia has been promoted to number eight and will make his first start of the tournament this weekend.
The other changes see hooker Mario Ledesma and prop Juan Martin Scelzo regain their spots in the front row, with Alberto Vernet Basualdo and Omar Hasan dropping to the bench.
Lucas Borges, who bagged two tries in the recent 33-3 victory over Georgia, has also been preferred to Hernan Senillosa on the right wing.
