Finger Injury Rules Trimble Out

Andrew Trimble has been forced to pull out of the Ireland squad for tomorrow’s World Cup Pool D clash with Argentina at the Parc des Princes.

Trimble, who was selected amongst the replacements, has picked up an infection in the finger that he injured against Namibia in Ireland’s opening game of the tournament. Connacht’s Gavin Duffy has been drafted in to replace Trimble on the bench.

In other news, Ireland prop Simon Best continues to recover well and is expected to return home from hospital in Bordeaux to Ireland early next week.
