Navan Set For ‘Pink’ Saturday

Have you ever seen rugby players dressed in pink in Navan? Well you will at Balreask Old tomorrow as players from Navan RFC don pink jerseys and even pink scrum caps in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness.

Pink is the colour associated with the branding for Breast Cancer Awareness and Navan’s head coach Brad Harris has come up with this idea in order to bring more focus in the club to Breast Cancer Awareness.

Navan’s first team players will be wearing a once-off pink playing jersey in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness tomorrow when they take on Ashbourne in a Leinster League Division 1 encounter.

The Navan jerseys will be auctioned off individually to the highest bidder from the players and supporters in the clubhouse after the match.

These jerseys have been produced thanks to generous support of Carphone Warehouse, Ebonyrose Rooms and Reilly & Co, as well as OB Sports. Impact Sport have donated some pink scrum caps in order to complete the pink theme for the day.

All proceeds from the day will be donated to the Irish Cancer Society. Club members of Navan RFC will be selling various merchandise for Breast Cancer Awareness throughout the day as well.

So come along on the day, bring your friends, have a tea/coffee or glass of pink champagne, nibbles and have your photograph taken with the ‘boys in pink.’ The day starts at 2pm, the Navan-Ashbourne game then kicks off at 4pm with the Rugby World Cup Final on clubhouse screens at 8pm. Tickets cost 5 euro each and are available on the day.
