Connacht Hoping To Make Most Of Home Support

Connacht coach Michael Bradley has urged supporters to come out in big numbers for the province’s Magners League clash with Edinburgh at the Sportsground on Friday (kick-off 6.30pm).

Connacht have not had a home game since the opening day win over the Newport Gwent Dragons on September 21.

Since then the westerners have been on their travels to Llanelli, Glasgow and Cardiff, but return to their Galway base this week looking for their first win in four league games.

Bradley says that a big turnout from Connacht fans could be the difference between victory and defeat on Friday.

“We have seen in our three away matches how big a boost the home sides got from their own fans and we would hope to get the same boost from Connacht supporters,” he said.

“There has been a huge increase in the level of support for Connacht in the past few years and this is a major boost for the players. Hopefully, that support will come out on Friday evening, especially as we have been away for three games in a row.”

In the corresponding fixture last season Connacht managed to work their way back into the game, coming from 19-13 behind to salvage a draw against the Scottish outfit in a thrilling encounter.

There was also quite a bit of action off the ball as a total of five players were sin-binned and if Friday’s match is anything like last years, Connacht fans are in for another treat.

Tickets for Connacht v Edinburgh are on sale at Ticketmaster and at the Connacht Branch offices at the Sportsground on College Road and cost the usual prices –
