Ireland back rower Jamie Heaslip has been named the Bank of Ireland Leinster Player of the Month for September/October after a string of impressive performances in the Magners League.
Bank of Ireland is delighted to announce Jamie Heaslip as the Bank of Ireland Leinster Player of the Month for September/October. Heaslip was presented with the award by Stephen Mason, the Dublin Regional Manager, Bank of Ireland, at the RDS recently.
On receiving the award, the Irish international said: “It’s a great honour to receive the award especially as it is decided by our supporters. Leinster have had some great games so far and we are looking forward to continuing this throughout the season.”
Supporters undoubtedly named Heaslip as Bank of Ireland Player of the Month following his outstanding performance against the Cardiff Blues where he expertly defended the Leinster back-line, seeing off two dangerous try-scoring attempts by the Blues and with his try which added to Leinster’s comfortable lead.
He continued to be a key player, fighting hard throughout the game against Llanelli Scarlets but it was his performance against Ulster which will have been the deciding factor for many supporters. His contribution in this game won him the TV man of the match award.
Voting for Leinster’s November Bank of Ireland Player of the Month is now open. Supporters from the province should consider who has impressed them in the team’s matches against Connacht, Leicester Tigers, Toulouse and the Ospreys.
To vote simply e-mail: information@leinsterrugby.ie with the player’s name and the reason why he deserves this accolade. Entries from budding sports journalists will be in with a chance to win a 100 euro gift voucher.
