Shannon have hit top spot in Division One of the AIB League with their fourth win in four games. Fellow Limerick side Young Munster continue to set the pace in Division Two, while Bruff complete the Munster triumvirate at the head of the Division Three standings.
Shannon took their fourth win in four games to reclaim top spot in Division One of the AIB League in Castle Avenue today. Having missed out on the playoffs last season Shannon are now two points clear of beaten finalists Cork Con who drew 12 – 12 with champions Garryowen.
Old Belvedere grabbed their first win of the campaign with a 21 – 15 victory over Dublin neighbours Terenure College. Fellow promotees greystones also bagged their first winning points with a two point win away to Dungannon.
St. Mary’s College continue without a win after they lost out by 10 – 3 at UL Bohs, though they did garner a third losing bonus point.

Young Munster continue to set the pace in Division 2 with a ten point win over Barnhall leaving them two points clear of UCC, who won at home to Buccs, at the top of Division 2.
Thomond and Trinity played out a three all draw, while Highfield – home club of IRFU president Der Healy – beat Ballynahinch by a point. Bective picked up their first win of the season with a four point win over fellow Dubliners DLSP while promoted Wanderers picked up their second win of the campaign with a 26 – 0 thumping of Old Crescent.

It is tight at the top of Division three with Bruff and Inst. tied on 19 points. They both picked up home wins, though Bruff’s 20 point margin over near neighbours Nenagh Ormond sees them ahead on points difference as Inst only managed a one margin against Queens.
Banbridge are just three points adrift after their victory over Naas. At the bottom of the table Co. Carlow remain winless but did manage a draw with Midleton, while City of Derry are also winless as they lost to Corinthians.
