Draw Is Made For AIB Cup Quarter-Finals
The draw for the quarter-finals of the AIB Cup and AIB Junior Cup took place at Blackrock College RFC on Saturday afternoon following ‘Rock’s third round victory over Cork Constitution.
The draw for the quarter-finals of the AIB Cup was made at Stradbrook following the third round tie between Blackrock College and Cork Constitution which the Dublin side won by 14-10.
The draw was made by the two presidents, Declan Gardiner of Blackrock College RFC and Jack O’Sullivan of Cork Constitution. The quarter-finals will be played on the weekend of February 2-3.
The draw threw up a number of interesting ties with the holders Garryowen drawn away to Clontarf while the host club for the draw, Blackrock College, earned themselves a home tie against near neighbours UCD.
In the AIB Junior Cup, holders Seapoint were drawn away to Tullamore following their win over Kinsale, while Westport emerged victorious from their Mayo derby clash with Castlebar. Navan beat Armagh to earn a home tie against Clogher Valley.
