Leinster number 8 Jamie Heaslip received a double boost this week as fresh from being included the extended Ireland squad for the 2008 RBS 6 Nations, he was named on Wednesday as one of 16 players involved in the new PricewaterhouseCoopers High Performance Select Group.

Currently fighting his way back to fitness after a knee injury, Ulster back rower Stephen Ferris is hopeful that he can continue on the path to further Test caps as a member of the HPSG. He was greatly heartened by Ulster’s Heineken Cup win over Bourgoin last Friday and is itching to get back involved with the province.
