AIB League Round-Up

Divisions 2 and 3 took centre stage in the AIB League this weekend. The playoffs are still wide open in Division 2 while Bruff remain unbeaten in Division 3.

There were wins for Highfield, Malone and Belfast Harlequins in Division 2 of the AIB League on Saturday but the race for promotion and playoff places remains wide open.

DLSP, narrowly beaten by ‘Quins are back in eighth place on 28 points only six adrift of a top four slot. With Buccaneers and Bective picking up wins at home to Thomond and away to the ‘Hinch respectively this Division could go down to the wire.

Next weekends clashes between Highfield and Belfast Harlequins, Young Munster and Bective and DLSP and Buccaneers could have a big bearing on the top four.

AIB League Division 3

It was always going to come down to this game. Bruff against Instonians and while Queens and Banbridge may still have an interest in the promotion spot their game next weekend is likely to rule one of them out.

Bruff kept their unbeaten record and their now famous “Points Against” intact with a 6 – 5 win over their Ulster rivals. They bounced back quickly from their AIB Cup exit at the hands of Malone recently to ensure their League record remains intact.
