April Date For Postponed Ulster v Munster Tie

The IRFU Management Committee has confirmed that the Magners League game between Ulster and Munster, which was postponed on January 4 due to adverse weather conditions at Ravenhill, will be played on either Friday, April 25 (kick-off 7.30pm) or Tuesday, April 29 (7.00pm).

Should Munster progress to the semi-final stages of the Heineken Cup, which are to be played on the weekend of April 25-27, the Ulster v Munster league match will be played on Tuesday, April 29.

However, if Declan Kidney’s side is knocked out of the competition at the quarter-final stage, the match will go ahead on Friday, April 25. The actual date of the match will be confirmed on Monday, April 8 following the Heineken Cup quarter-finals.

Supporters holding tickets for the match are advised that their tickets will be valid for either date and are reminded to keep them in a safe place as they cannot be re-issued if lost/stolen.

However, if any supporters wish to seek a refund they are advised to visit www.UlsterRugby.com for further information. Refunds will be available from Tuesday, February 12 – Friday, February 22 and full details of the procedure and extra opening hours appear on the Ulster Rugby website.

If supporters hold tickets for the Memorial Stand, which was due to come down at the end of February, and wish to attend the game they are asked to hold on to these for the meantime as Ulster Rugby are currently in negotiations to determine whether or not it will be in operation for the Munster match.

Further information will be available next week although if the stand remains in place it will be uncovered.

A statement from Ulster Rugby read: “We would like to thank supporters who have purchased tickets for this match for their patience thus far and ask you to bear with us in the coming days as we endeavour to process refunds as efficiently as possible.

“We hope to see as many of you at Ravenhill for the Munster game as possible as your support for this crucial match will be vital.”
