Malone are top of Division 2 as Highfield lost to Belfast Harlequins, while Bruff finally dropped points in Dvision 3 but remain unbeaten.
Malone’s thumping of Barnhall combined with a favour from neighbours Belfast Harlequins who beat Highfield sees the Gibson Park men go top in Divison 2. They are now two points ahead of their fellow Ulster side with Highfield and Young Munster, who secured a home win over Bective, making up the other two playoff spots.
The division is still wide open with UCC and Buccaneers both on 35 points, just five points adrift of the leaders. UCC remain in contention despite their thre point loss to Clonakilty at Shannonvale, while the Athlone side racked up 40 points away to DLSP to keep them in the hunt.
In the relegation zone Thomond and Wanderers secured vital wins. The Limerick side are third from bottom thanks to their win over bottom side Old Crescent. While Suttonians are in the red zone having lost to Wanderers.

Bruff finally dropped points in Division 3 but remain unbeaten following their 10 all draw with Ards at Hamilton Park. Second placed Instonians were unable to capitalise though as they went down by a point in a hard fought game with Waterpark.
Queen’s now look best placed to pressure Inst. for the promotion spot having beaten fellow chasers Banbridge 28 – 3 at Dub Lane.
At the bottom of the table City of Derry could not overcome Connemara and remain in last place. Waterpark’s dogged win over Inst. is not enough to lift them out of the red zone as they remain six points adrift of Connemara.
There were home wins for Rainey, Co. Carlow, Nenagh Ormond and Old Wesley.
