Ireland Team Update

Tony Buckley has been passed fit to take his place in the Ireland squad for Saturday’s clash with Scotland. Meanwhile, team captain Brian O’Driscoll completed a fitness session today and Geordan Murphy has been called back into camp due to a knock picked up by Girvan Dempsey.

The Ireland team trained on Thursday at UCD in preparation for their game against Scotland in the RBS Six Nations championship. Team captain Brian O’Driscoll completed a fitness session and had no reaction to his calf afterwards. He will undergo a full fitness test tomorrow to confirm his availability for the weekend.

Girvan Dempsey picked up a knock to his left hip during today’s training session and being so close to the game, Geordan Murphy, who was named in the Leicester squad this weekend, has been called back into the Ireland camp as a precaution.

Experienced full-back Dempsey will undergo a fitness test tomorrow to determine if he will play on Saturday.

Meanwhile, prop Tony Buckley came through today’s session and also a full fitness test and has been confirmed as being fit to take his position amongst the replacements for the Scotland game.
